Hohem iSteady X3 3-Axis Smartphone Gimbal 

 

This device is a 3-axis portable smartphone gimbal that is typically designed for travel and content creators. The one that we used for out film came with a screw-on tripod piece. There is a mini remote that can be removed from the gimbal, so we can set up the phone and control the rotation, lighting, and depth from a distance.  The main purpose of the gimbal is to create steady content. It allows your phone to stay steady and focused even if your hands are not steady. It also allows you to create a smooth rotation of the phone, including side to side, up and down, and around in a circle. We used this gimbal device to film our whole film. 

We used one other feature on our phone to create the mood of the film with lighting. We did this through my phone, which was the device we used to film. It is a feature that pops up when you click on the main focus point in the camera frame. Then you drag down the little sunshine that pops up until the lighting fit the standards wanted. The lighting will still be edited a little bit during our editing process, but for the most part, this feature is what created the lighting that we wanted.
